This was the longest trip Alison has made
about 50 miles. The winds were once again very light, so much so that the
direction was quite variable so off we went at about 9.00am closely followed by
the Swedish boat Fejm who had been at anchor with us overnight.
The wind never filled in so we ended up motoring
all day - Fejm clearly had the same end objective and boat speed so we spent all
day only 100mtrs apart. The coastline was probably the most beautiful we have
seen with mountains coming down to the sea with small coves and beaches and very
few buildings. Clearly not a tourist area.
We passed the small port of Garruchi with a few
ships tied up to the docks.
Eventually we arrive at a lovely little cove
(Ensuenda de la Fuenta) sheltered by a high rocky hill from the Westerlies
running/forecast - a few small boats were anchored with us and the Swedish
Boat Fejm, later joined by a Spannish Janneau 44.
Swimming off the boat was great in lovely clear
water at 27 degrees - YES 27
The dream came somewhat to an end during the night
when the wind decided to shift to the one qtr that the bay was exposed
to ie, NE (not forcasted at all) - In the middle of the night we had
15/16knots of wind with increasing sized waves coming into the bay, I did
wonder if we were going to have to sail on in the middle of the night.
Fortunately the anchor held well and whilst it wasn;t the most comfortable of
nights we survived - Having said that Alison seemed to sleep well enough -
