Left P3 in Dubrovnic marina and hired a car and
drove Shirley anmd Emily back to Split Airport for their flight home, it is only
130 miles but took nearly 4 hours, roads here not great! Interesting to see the
country from the land though, although very mountainous, there are some large
flat areas where enormous quantities of fruit and veg are grown. We stopped off
in a charming little resort town, Omis, on the way back and checked into a hotel
for the night, lovely to sleep in a great big bed and stand under the shower
without worrying about water! Omis is a beautiful town, commercialised for
tourism but retaining its old world charm, situated on a river, white water
rafting and mountaineering are the big attractions here, we watched a little
girl of 5 climb 100ft cliff with our hearts in our mouths!! Returned this
afternoon and got most of the chores done, wash the boat and do washing in the
morning and then off to Cavat for a night or two before checking out of
Croatia and straight to Corfu, giving Montenegro a miss as we are running out of
time.
