Well, John and Eva announced this morning that they were off, they had seen the Marina Office and understood that the first night is free, wrong! They  sailed off and the marinero was very upset and tried to get me to pay their mooring fee, no chance, not only is the first night not free, it is extremely expensive, now, I may be harping on about fees but Italy is the most expensive country I have ever encountered for mooring fees, here, it is 50 euros a night! that is just to tie up your boat and use the electric and water, its crazy money. However, Italy is cheap for other stuff, we bought cherries at 1 euro a kilo, plump little plum tomatoes, 1 euro a kilo, beautiful fat white onions, 50 cents a kilo, local wine(haven't tried it yet!) 1 euro a bottle. We are eating cheaply and well but the moment they know you have a boat they seem intent on seperating you from your money.  Tomorrow looks like nice winds to sail to Vieste where we hope to anchor free for the night and then do the 60 mile hop across to Latovo on Sunday, that will essentially be our goal, Croatia!
