17th June

Spent a pleasant day enjoying some great sailing at speeds to 10 knots, entertained the troops with my dreadful trumpet playing, theme tune to Coronation Street and The Pink Panther went down well. We fished all day with no results, Karin cooked an apple pie which we had with custard, fabulous, the girl is a wonder! We had Hungarian goulash a la veggie for lunch, the soya looks like meat, has the consistency of meat, its just the taste...... I shouldn’t complain, we are eating like kings! Weather a bit cloudy with a shower or two, moderate to strongish West winds, 0400 and a quiet night, still making 5/6 knots under reefed main and poled out genoa, sea calmed down and all quiet and peaceful. Just downloaded a grib file and the next 3 days look set fair as far as winds are concerned but some rain about. Phil tried to listen to Herb again but no joy, he is just too far away in Canada, maybe someone else heard him, if so we will get a repeat in the morning radio net at 0900. Chris
