We left Isle de Cabrera yesterday morning about
0700, thinking we would make the 20 mile hop to Porto Colom on Majorca, however,
after a couple of hours the promised Easterly wind failed to show so we took
advantage of a South Easterly and motor sailed the 80 miles to Menorca, arriving
about 1900 to a pleasant mooring in a remarkably quiet harbour, where are all
the boats? Credit crunch I suppose. Saw two big pods of dolphins on the trip and
caught a largish tuna, well almost! Got away as I got him within 2 feet of the
boat, good, I suppose, gave us some fun and got away! Day off today doing
shopping, walking and sunbathing, then, weather permitting we plan to fuel up
tomorrow and spend the night on the anchor ready to leave 0700 on Monday for the
200 mile trip to Sardinia.
