Hi All,
After a casual start to the day we departed Ranon
about 1100 and strated the sail across the northern side of majestic Ambrym
Island, across to Port Sandwich (named "Sharwich" by Sarah for reasons to be
explained), whee we arrived about 3.30 PM after a terrific sail where we made 8+
knots across the intervening strait.
This place is renowned for the Bull Sharks which
frequent its waters, the product of asn abbatoir which dumped cattle carcassses
into the bay. A few years ago a nine year old New Zealand girl from a cruising
yacht was taken off the wharf here, hence the name "sharkwich" .
We will probably hang here for a few days while we
await a suitable breeze to sail down to Lamen anchorage on Epi
Island.
All the rest is
school....TTFN!
