Hi All,
Position at 1800 NZDT: 41.07.622S 174.08.995E Wind
NNW 25 knots, sunny and warm. Southerly Change 35 knots expected
overnight.
Sorry no blog last night, weather was pretty
average and so we rentaed a car and did the Marlborough wine trail - Montana,
Wither Hills, Highfeld Estate, and the Moa Brewery - spot the odd one out. Last
night we had a quiet night in and watched the DVD "the ship that rocked" kindly
presented to us by Marie. A good day out and an excellent way of avoiding the
bad weather!
This morning we picked up the olympic swim record
holding outboard motor, and then headed off out to Endeavour inlet at the head
of the sounds. We are now sitting on a mooring at Punga Cove, a resort on the
Bay.
This afternoon we spent a couple of hours and did
the Camp Bay Loop in the Queen Charlotte Track, had a beer at the Boatshed at
Punga Cove, and then returned onboard for sundowners. Cate s making steak
burgers for dinner and we have some lovely Marlborough chardonnay and reisling
to accompany.
Tomorrow we will head out to Ship Cove where
Captain Cook stopped for maintenance on all three of his voyages of discovery.
It also happens to be the end of the Queen Charlotte Track, so Cate, Marie, and
the girls will do the walk from there back to Furneaux Lodge - about 5 hours. I
will take the boat around to Furneaux and walk back up the track to meet them at
the mid-point. We might stop at the lodge for dinner after...
Anyway, hope all is well with everyone; we are
currently out of range so staphone is the only contact if you need
us.
