Hi All,
Per the cunning plan we left Uoeleva Is this
morning, and motored across to Lihfu Is to the entrance to the harbour of
Pangai. There we anchored adjactent to the wreck of an old sailing ship and had
a really good snorkel around. Not long after we got there about seven other
boats from the rally joined us, so it was rush hour on the wreck
site.
After lunch we sailed again and we are now well
settled at anchor in a slightly rolly anchorage off Ha'ano Island, the
orthernmost of the Ha'apai Group. Once dinner is over (Tomato and Salami Pasta -
Yu'um...!) we will weigh again and make the 65 nm overnight passage to Nieafu,
the port centre of Vava'U. Tomorrow promises to be busy with internal clearances
for customs, immigration, some shopping, and most importantly catching up with
my friend Bob (Bungy) Wiliams, who is presently on his return leg of a
circumnavigation in his classic yacht "Sylph". Added to the mix is that it is
Bob's birthday, so there may be some typo's in tomorrow's blog - Will let you
know how it all goes.
