Hi All,
Another day in sunny Gulewa villiage on the north
side of Misima Island. The day started with a visit to the local elementary
school, complete with traditional dancing (the canoe dance - yay!). Graham and
Cate went on an extended tour of the village with Terry which included sago
making and a visit to the women's refuge. Terry then climbed to the tallest
cocoanut tree unaided to secure about twenty drinking nuts.
In the afternoon he took us to the best snorkelling
spots, and the evening ended with a BBQ and sing-sing on the beach. The massive
ribs on the bone were awesome, being the first of the gifts from
Investigator.
Tomorrow we will sail around to panapompom to clear
out, before heading to windward along the Calvados Chain to secure a better wind
angle to Cairns,
TTFN, Cate
