Hi All,
A generally quiet day, we moved anchorage to a
small island which forms part of an inner lagoon in the harbour, and where we
will be having a Tongan BBQ tomorrow afternoon/evening.
This morning we all went ashore to the 30th
anniversay celebrations of the island's school - a new and quite impressive set
of buildings which were obviously constructed by foreign aid after the 2009
Tsunmai. The Hihifo village end of the island also has a fresh water spring
which we all went for a swim in, before returning to the boat mid-afternoon.
Late in the afternoon the girls all went ashore to a craft demonstration of
panadanus weaving which they enjoyed, coming back with frangipani
Leis.
Tomorrow morning we will head into the catholic
church service which is held at the school. It will all be in Tongan but I
reckon the form will be straight out of the Vatican play book...
The weather for the passage to Fiji looks pretty
good, so hopefully we should make a fairly quick passage, if we leave Monday
morning we should be arriving Savu Savu on Thursday PM.
Until tomorrow, TTFN
