Grib files are these natty little wind arrow
thingies which you can download over your satphone connection to give the latest
and greatest weather forecasts on your computer navigation chart software. They
are based on years of accumulated data, atmospheric observations and a computer
model. They aren't always right! Wewere supposed to be enjoying a nice 15 knot
SE breeze helping us on our way to minerva reef (as at yesterdays forecast. The
weather is actually a 20 knot NE breeze which is coming from where we want to
go. Fortunately the computer has corrected its' mistake this afternoon. 'nuff
said.
The day has been mostly unpleasant due to the
contrary wind and we are now expecting to arrive there sometime Friday if we are
lucky. Morale is "flat" at the moment to say the least but the crew are
philosophical.
Not much else to report, until tomorrow,
