The wind got us up in the night to take first
one reef and then another. By morning it was blowing hard enough to reduce sail
again until we were running before the wind with 3 reefs in the main sail and no
jib.These conditions continued all day with very heavy rain at times. I
couldn't take a shower as we have company!!
Patch entertained us with a mouldy peach. He was asked
him to throw it over the side but as it was pouring with rain he decided to
throw it from inside the cabin. His aim was poor. It exploded on the side
of the companion way and deposited its contents in every concievable
place. How he managed to get it on his back we shall never know but the
clean up process was entertaining and we are still finding bits.
By evening the wind had dropped and we are only making
three knots but we can't complain we have done well so far.
