I awoke this morning feeling decidedly jaded and
not really looking forward to spending another day in the washing machine being
churned by the strong headwinds.I had to take the mainsail down and
put it back up during the night, a bad habit I'm getting into, so was also short
of sleep. However, coincidentally, I was just writing down the GMT noon
position when I noticed a change in the ships movement, the wind had changed(A
Mary Poppins moment???). We tacked and and had a super heading SW and at top
speed because the wind was still strong. This is the direction I need to
get south of the ice. We have had 6 hours of this and I have done 30
miles. As I write the wind is dropping off and I must go and add more
sail.
Before I go; one thing I should have said yesterday
when I was talking about the bread, no need to worry about the skipper starving
- as the Lady said when she was told "the people have no bread" "well let them
eat cake" - I have lots of cake on board! Thanks Birthday
Twin.
Must go and sort the sails out,
