It was promised today that it would becalm you will see by my typing it definitely is not - very bouncy. Thge  calm came during the night and after some fruitless attempts to keep her going I took the sails down and went to bed.

With calm I expected warm sun and aday doing things only possiblew when its quiet.  one of those things was to have a wash; well washing in a level sunlit cockpit is one thing, on a sloping , heaving boat hanging on withone hand, trying wash with the other while keeping the water in the bowl is quitew another.  Use youre imagination but I AM cleaner, smell sweeter and feel better even though it took me over an hour. All other calm weather tasks had to be put aside and we are basically 'grinding to windward'.the wind is east of south and I can just make a sourth westerly course, need to get south of the icebergs which is south of my waypoint Titanic's resting place.

FOOD! my family set me up with loads of packets of ham and tons of salad for easy meals to start with which is lovely but after 8 or 9 days of ham salad every nighrt I I was glads of a change.  Yesterday I ate the last of the iceberg lettice heart, which was in very good condition having peeled the leaves progressively from the outside, and threw the last of the ham overboardhaving gone off before I could eat it,  Cucumber and pepper don't last long once they are started so the salad became progressively more subsidised as time went on.  The bread was very short lived, particularly the granery which went moldy within a day.  The exception was the whole meal, which I discovered today.  I thought to myself I must get rid of that bread and in the process of tipping the bread over the side in the bottom of the bag was a wholemeal some of which I had for my lunch today, why it was fine and the others moldy I don't kow.

TIME!This trip I am working on 'Ships Time' which means I'm in tune with the sun so ever 15degrees west I put the ships clock back an hour to keep my working day in tune with the daylight hours; so at the time of writing I am 30 degrees west it is 5 o clock in the afternoon but in the UK it is 8pm in the evening.  I have found I eat at the rfight time and am much better for it.The only problem is I have to remember that noon GMT when I record my position is now 10 O clock in the morning here and will get further removed

Whiled I have been writing this she has been crashing and banging to windward complaining that I am not paying her any attention so I'd better go and check!!!!

Lots of love,
