Not a lot to report today; We turned north at 13.15 Saturday and after the initial push of strong winds as Bertha left us the wind slowly died althought the direction was ok allowing us to make good speed.  During the night the N or NW wind continued to decline so we only did 88 miles in the 24 hour period, noon to noon.

The main consolation was it was beautifully sunny and the crew lounged and watched the huge seas that Bertha had left behind.  By now although big they were friendly waves that Ella Trout sailed serenely over.As the wind faded so did the waves and the sea slowly settled but not enough!!!!
