Leaving Praia

We had an unusual departure from Praia da
Vitoria. We were finally ready to go at 5pm having done all our
chores and cleared customs. Tearful goodbyes said we motored out of the
marina and turned to go by the pier head to wave our last fair wells and they
shouted we had left our passports behind, which could not be true as we had
them with us. We turned back and were duly pulled along side. The
problem was my two extra passengers, our departure document had to have there
passport details on it. We eventually left at 6pm in glorious sunshine
with more tears and waving.
We had an excellent first 18 hours averaging 6kts
but at midday on Friday 13th the wind swung round to the north east - dead
against us, so we are beating to windward again and we are all a bit off
colour. James quiet poorly, spent the whole night on deck, Sarah mostly
fine.
No dolphins or whales so far!
