Eventually got away from Rhu at about 13:30 today
after offloading surplus stuff into the car. Emergency unplanned hat overboard
drill - we failed to retrieve Graham's cap from Africa. I'm sorry to
say we lost sight of it and have to assume it sank and was lost in spite of
strenuous efforts!
Moderate southerly wind. We fired up engine
for last half of trip from Largs to Troon but started to get vibration from
engine. After we got into Troon Max and Iain constructed a mini-ROV to
inspect underwater (see picture). Very successful - looks like we
have a rope or something on the prop. We will inspect again in
daylight. Hope there's no permanent damage.
