Wed to  Sun – 23rd to 27th April

We woke on Wednesday morning to find another huge cruise ship docking and we were later admonished by the pilot for being anchored too far out in the channel.  So we clearly did not want to be here when they left and had to turn around, so Sarah went ashore for her hair appointment and to do some food shopping and we headed off in the early afternoon to Brewers Bay which is where we had spent some time a few weeks ago. However not all went well at the hairdressers and from the delights of what she considered the best haircut she has ever had which was on the Dutch island of Sint Maarten, poor Sarah plummeted to the absolute depths with what is by some margin, the shortest and worst haircut ever – and just 5 weeks before we head home.

This anchorage was almost empty and very peaceful (apart from the aircraft landing and taking off) and  so we have stayed here through to Sunday taking advantage of the super-fast free wifi to get any number of things done.  We have also spent hours going through the rest of the yachts lockers etc, making a thorough inventory of everything on board, noting which items are included in the sale and which are extras etc.

Good news arrived in the form of an email from the shipping company who have given us details of the ship we are putting Serafina on for the Atlantic crossing and better still we are now due to be loading on either the 18th or 19th May.  But sadly we cannot be guaranteed this and so we still cannot book our flights home to the UK in case there is a delay of any kind.  But at least we now have a date to focus on.  The ship is coming here from Panama and will head over the Atlantic to Gibraltar before ending up in Southampton in early June.
