Thursday 13th March

Treated ourselves to a full fried breakfast ashore at ‘D best Cup’, coffee shop in Soper’s Hole. Omar the chef, did us proud and it certainly helps the cause if you go anywhere in the company of Linda and Bill from Sapphire as it is easier to count the few people who do not know them rather than the vast majority who do. This was the same pattern as yesterday where everyone stops to chat to them and service is always several notches higher than for mere mortals.

Eventually we were able to tear ourselves away but it was not until midday that we finally dropped our lines from the private buoy belonging to one of the multi-million dollar houses that over looked us and headed off to Norman Island. However we could not quite resist motoring slowly round Little Thatch Island to see in daylight John and Jill’s private island and the beautiful beach where we had enjoyed dinner two nights earlier. It truly is another world entirely.

We ended up anchoring in Benures Bay on Norman Island where it was calm and peaceful and there were just two other yachts – well that was the case when we arrived, but by dusk the total had crept up to 11.
