On Friday we headed off ashore around midday to visit English harbour and to try and find some half decent wifi.  This is the very worst spot we have come across for wifi generally as although there are any number of signals (mostly wanting money) there are so many big expensive boats in the marinas that all of the available bandwidth has been swallowed up.  So although we found a weak but free signal on the first night, it had vanished by the morning.

We took the opportunity to view all the big yachts and were suitable impressed by some and horrified by others. Not a lot has changed here over the past few years although it was good to see that all of the restaurants were all looking smart and clearly competing which makes for health pricing!!

On Saturday Il Sogno came out of the marina where they had been located having their mast sorted out and anchored next to us.  They have been very lucky it seems and all is looking good for a new mast foil so that they could be up and running in a few weeks which is a lot better than they could have dared hope for originally.

During the day we discovered that one of the bars in the Antigua Yacht Club complex has a good wifi signal and so we sat and had a few coffees whilst availing ourselves of this good service. In the evening we entertained John and Chris ‘Oriel’ (OCC regional roving vice commodores) to Sundowners and were able to pick their brains along the way!

Sunday saw a complete change of plan as the weather forecast had been deteriorating for the coming week and so we chose to take this opportunity to service the rear heads loo completely.  I will not go into details here but it was not the most enjoyable job removing the tank and hoses and poor Sarah was left with the unenviable job of cleaning everything behind the units and tank etc.

We opted to carry this out in Jolly harbour where it is a lot flatter and calmer this week, but we did not want to go back into the marina so we have picked up one of their mooring buoys which is a good option all round and leaves us close to the boatyard here if we need any ‘help’.
