Thurs & Fri – 20th & 21st March

Spoke to Balvenie (NZ) on the SSB radio during the 0900 hour ‘Magellan net’  and hopefully we are going to meet up with them and Koza (AUS) early next week.

We had a gentle sail over to Jost Van Dyke Island where picked up a buoy in the grandly named ‘Great harbour’ which is a small bay.  We had been told about a mother and calf Humpback whales in this area but despite eagerly scanning the sea the whole way there we saw nothing.

After lunch Ewan set off in a local bus to visit the ‘Soggy Dollar’  which is of course a bar on a beach about a mile or so away, whilst Sarah and I took advantage of the free wifi at Foxy’s.

In the evening we had dinner at Foxy’s and a relatively early night.

On Friday we headed back to Peter island via Soper’s Hole and arrived to find we had the anchorage section of the bay pretty much all to ourselves.  Sarah and Ewan went snorkelling along the coral again and after supper we played Mexican train which was won  by Sarah (of course).  All very civilised really.
