We are at 06:45.33N 58:31.16W anchored just south of Fort Island away from the many barges which go up and down river. The sail along the Surinam coast was uneventful apart from the fact that there was no NW current which we had expected. There were 12 shrimp trawelers 12 miles offshore Georgetown, quite tightly spaced so we ended up going only 100 metres away from 2 but well away from their trawl so no problems.
There was no fairway or green buoy or indeed any buoys at all that we coudl see at the Essaquibo, but the waypoints in Doyle seemed basically OK once corrected with the Doyle.com updates and the noon site feedback. There are a large number of stakes whihc hold small mesh seine nets but there are enough gaps to go through.
