The Tintoreras - Isabela, Galapagos - (22)

Roger & I decided to take the dink (dinghy) round to the Tintoreras to see the Marine Iguanas. The Tintoreras are a small chain of islands where the birds nest. The landscape is baron, consisting of volcanic rock and sand.

 

There were Marine Iguanas everywhere. There were so many that they we crawling all over each other. One rock covered in the bizarre looking creatures looked like a sculpture that Escher would have done.

 

 

 

 

 

 

There was a lovely lagoon that I commented would be nice for snorkeling, as it was sheltered, then we saw the sign that said ‘no swimming, shark resting area’!!!!

 

On the way back to the boat we were treated to a close up of the Galapagos penguins preening on the rocks. They are so cute!
