Another day in Paradise

I had decided to concentrate on finishing King Neptune (rather like a bit of a homage to him in view of the next leg of our trip).

It was very time consuming, finding the right size and coloured shells to add, so progress was slow.

At 4pm each day, I would pack up my materials and walk down the hill to the main road.

It just so happened that I had to pass really cute little place called Fresas Mary, which is a little place that sells Strawberries in every combination you can imaging.

So I would have Strawberries and cream and a cup of tea, before setting off on my way back to my cabana for the evening.

If nothing else, I was getting plenty of exercise, walking to and from the Gardens.

On Wednesdays the gardens are closed to the public, but I went in to do some more to the mural. The only staff there, were a couple of locals, who tend and water the gardens, oh yes, and kill the snakes!!!!!!

The store room was locked, so I couldn’t get my materials, so I decided to go down and clean up the work I had done so far, taking off the excess plaster.

Serge, the gardener was coming out of the aviary as I was going in, which gave me a bit of a ‘start’. But as I found out later, I’d have had a much bigger start if he hadn’t been, because he had just caught and killed a big, venomous snake!!!!

So for the previous couple of days April (another volunteer with green thumbs) and I had been working in the aviary totally unaware of the snake that was in there!!!!
