At 15:30 we dropped our sails and rounded the breakwater
at Arrecife Lanzarote harbour and commenced motoring gingerly through the outer
commercial harbour towards the yacht marina. We had covered 548 miles in 3 days
and 7 hours - an average of just over 6.9 knots and with just over 4 engine
hours mostly under sail. A successful - if not somewhat interesting voyage
that included a number of challenges
A tired but happy crew tied up in the marina and tidied
ship whilst the paperwork was completed and following a beer or two enjoyed an
excellent tapas meal at a local restaurant washed down by a distinctly
dodgy bottle of Lanzarote rose wine and a better white one. (I dont think we
will take any home). Hardly a tourist to be seen in the old town - maybe
they are all in the 'all inclusive' hotels? Good
We joined a 1000
or so locals enjoying the
dancing and singing of the traditional Lanzarote troup 'Los Campesinos' on our
way back to our beds
We slept very well
