2 days in and we have been very busy just getting our
heads around what we need to do just to be ready for the start on Sunday week.
Katie has been brilliant at starting the preparations for all the meals we will
need for 6 crew for up to three weeks. We have been shopping and now
Katie is busy in the galley cooking spag bol, steak in beer and chicken in wine
meals and then adding them to the freezer. The plan is to augment them with rice
or noodles and cans of vegetables as our main meal.
Then there is the list of boat stuff....which
seems to grow longer by the day and hopefully we are on top of that -
although it does seem to now be dependent on some parts coming in from
USA for our watermaker to be working efficiently. The support here seems to
be good though but we will see.
The ARC organisation seems to be good and today we
passed both our rig test and safety check - wahoo - nothing to buy here. Lots of
other owners are having to spend a lot in the chandleries having not read
the briefing notes properly
