Escaping the noise we waited for the lifting bridge and motored gently down the River Tejo with the ebbing tide. With little or no wind we tried out the new sail, amended the sheet angles until we were happy; tucked it away and continued our leisurely trip to Cascais.

We booked ourselves in to the marina and went for a walk - it was hot - around the town. It had got noticeably busier since we had last been here and there was not much room on the beaches but there was a gentle breeze flowing through the town so it was quite pleasant in the shade

We returned to the boat for a welcome shower, change and then a sun glasses overboard drill - sadly not retrieved- in 6metres of water - despite Jane quickly changing out of glad rags and into her bikini and jumping in after them.......an offering to St Jude seems appropriate

Supper and early to bed before our run down to Sines in the morning
