We had decided on a rest day in Porto so following some admin and a couple of runs of the washing machine we left Associate looking a bit like a Chinese laundry and headed for town on the bikes in bright sunshine

Crossing the river by ferry we cycled up the northern side of the river, past the old electric tram depot and into the old town that was packed with tourists enjoying lunch in the myriad of restaurants along the quay

We locked up the bikes and walked up the hills into the town enjoying lunch at the celebrated
Electric Trams still going
Weather was great
The Majestic Cafe
Community washing line - who needs a launderette?
Majestic Cafe - we were serenaded by a street artist that sounded just like Tracey Chapman. "She" was absolutely fantastic sounding just like her as she went through the repertoire

We went to give some money - as we're loads of others - only to find that it was a black male singer! What a voice......and what a surprise

We slowly made our way back to the boat via the local community washing hut and in the evening revisited the BBQ Taberna Sao Pedro from the previous night - was just as good - with a pitcher of draft vinho verde being cheaper than a double coffee!
We really enjoyed our visit to Porto
