We arrived in Martinique in early February and never meant to stay longer than a week or so and in the end it has been a month

In the end events contrived to keep us here as the weather stopped us going further north with a novice crew and then issues with the steering - and a slight argument with a mooring rope kept us in the marina at Fort de France for a bit longer than planned. Katie and I both went home (UK) for a very enjoyable week and narrowly missed being snowed-in in UK to return to the warmth on 1st March

Air France were also part of the - 'lets keep you here' brigade as they lost our luggage and a very important spare part for our broken steering was in it! (note to self - always put important things like that in hand luggage). They phoned us the day after to say that the luggage had been found - phew......

So we got our act together and this morning checked out of Martinique to make our way to Dominica. We slipped our lines - carefully - and made our way out of the marina to sail in a south easterly that then turned into a very unseasonal south westerly! Equally unseasonal light westerly winds are forecast for tomorrow before the NE trades come back early next week

No rain today has been a first for a long time as well
