Cape Passero was our first stop we prepared a nice dinner after a four hour sail with light wind. The forecast was NW winds but as usual the wind was from the SW. The wind picked up when we arrived at Cape Passero and we anchored at a shallow water between Isola Capo Passero and the mainland Sicily. After dinner we sailed with a 10-18kts  some times up to 20kts SW wind about 5-10nm from the coast. Mainsail with one reef and 2/3 genoa, The wind was very good but the waves and swell  coming from the west, remains from the previous day, gave us a hard rock and roll. Around 04:00 12 July the wind dropped to 8kts and veered to the North. We met couple of freighters and 3 oil rigs.
Arrived at Licata 06:30 in a very sheltered port and anchored next to another 4 sailing boats. We are now ready for some rest...everybody tired.......looking forward to see the town opf Licata.
We woke up about 11:00 and seeing that the town looks ugly and not interesting at all we decided to sail to Pantelleria on our way to Tunisia.

We loved SICILY and there are things we will never forget: The driving (Greek heritage), the tasty fruits and what else..... the pizzas!!

Viva Magna Grecia!!

For those who think that passing a tanker from the bow is suicidal, just look carefully she is anchored.
