Autopilot failed southern ocean

Hollinsclough - Is the World Round?

Ice berg convergance zone of the Southern Ocean, South Atlantic.

About 175 miles north of South Georgia, first bergs seen 75 miles out, after two evenings of ice berg watch the clutch on the autopilot drice ram failed. Have a spare course pack computer but not a spare ram.

Almost clear of the ice and all good wind but we have to come about. Hand stearing 30 min watches almost into the wind, the very wind had been so kind to drive us out. Evenings hove to on steady slow drift.

Considered imposible to hand stear forwards for Tristan.

South Georgia return R Us.

Keep your fingers crossed for some wind turn for us.
