Cabo Rapier Pacific
Hollinsclough - Is the World Round?
Wed 25 Mar 2009 11:57
Pacific Swell of Cape Rapier Sixty miles across the Golf of Penas making five knots so a twelve hour arrival for eight am local at the vhf point of Cabo Rapier on the other side. Winds grew in the darkest darkness you ever saw, waves breaking but not clearing the canopy roof for a wild but bearable dash that brought us in two hours early for a six am sunrise vhf to log our position. 46.39.00 S 75.42.00
W The mountains of Cape Rapier were not disappointing of any World headland, true granny teeth specials all pushing three thousand feet for most ten miles of golden brown rock scape. Mountains of swell that broke the view but so long we rode them soft without crashing out and turning in a little began the push for Darwin Canal. |
