Hollinsclough - Is the World Round?

Village of
Mechuque We sailed on the
sunrise Thursday 9th April to bag a fabulous tide north bound up the
Golf of Corcovado, making eleven knots in the current race of flat whirly water
of Pacific swell force. Seventy miles of day time steerage fuelled with fresh
cake out of Quellon Town, what more can a crew ask for? We could see the
smoke plumes of an erupting volcano to the west as we turned in for the island
of Mechuque. Grave yard marked with a green starboard tower on its corner. A
town on stilts, water warm enough for a swim amongst the salmon farms and
dolphins. The picturesque fishing village of Mechuque. 42.19.00 S 73.16.00 W |
