OOJAH's AWESOME ODYSSEY

We motored back from Nantucket through the cut at Woods Hole & spent a wet weekend in Hadley Harbour, a small but pretty anchorage at the NE end of the Elisabeth Islands. Cape Cod sticks well out into the Atlantic but there's a short canal that enabled us to pass inshore & sail North past Boston to Rockport, an artistic little seaside town.
Our world is now changing. The tidal range has increased from a metre or less to nearer 3 metres, & the shoreline is granite with low headlands, off lying islands & small beaches. It's getting colder & damper & we've had to air our clothes for the first time this year.
We're now in Portsmouth, New Hampshire, guests of the Portsmouth YC who have been unbelievably hospitable. They treated us to dinner & even invited us to join their Maine cruise next month. We spent today at Strawberry Banke - a preserved site of various historic houses & a museum in the heart of the town. The period gardens were both fascinating & beautiful.
