OOJAH's AWESOME ODYSSEY

We had our best sail of the year down to Georgetown - a 7 hour light air reach which found Oojah at her best. Georgetown is quite a hub for cruisers & is as far south as many American boats get. There are at least a couple of hundred yachts anchored here & many stay here all season, never getting any further. There's fitness & volley ball on the beach every morning, bridge, a children's net, etc. There are probably more boat people than locals so the one shop does a steady trade although the settlement is a wet 20 minute dinghy ride from the best anchorages. We were excited to be coming here but I don't know what we were expecting - 3 or 4 days will be enough! To the North West is a 100 nm chain of small islands known as the Exuma Cays, desperately shallow for miles to the west & the deep open Atlantic to the East, which should be one of the highlights of our voyage. Fingers crossed and weather permitting!

Love to all from Peter & Christene
