OOJAH's AWESOME ODYSSEY

My turn again - it always is when we have Harbour Rot! We are in La Rochelle. It is raining cats and dogs. There is a rock concert going on for 4 days - day and night. It is so loud that they have issued us all with ear plugs. Believe me, I love rock music but I can't get my head around this. It is just continual noise - in French! Luckily at the moment the sound has been drowned out by the noise of the rain on deck! We are bathed in acrid thick smoke as tragically an old Museum ship caught fire last night just yards away. It has been gutted, though firemen fought the fire all night long. We had freezing cold showers this morning as the hot water was off in the Marina. By the time you've got all your clothes off, it's not worth coming all the way back to the boat! ' Life is Beautiful!'
However, La Rochelle is a lovely city and we shall drown our sorrows tonight with Happy Hour on the boat next door, followed by a nice meal in town. We hope to cross to Santander on Sunday, weather permitting, then only 5000 more miles to go to St Lucia!!!
Lots of love
