There aren't too many anchorages on the West coast of Portugal & this is the only offshore island I'm aware of. It's barren & steep sided but you can anchor off in settled weather. The pinky brown coloured cliffs are rugged & indented with outcrops & caves. The day trippers have gone now & we're bobbing up & down with just a couple of yachts & hundreds of sea birds. Perfect apart from the main halyard coming unclipped & wrapping itself round the backstay about 10 ft out of reach - the joys of sailing, always something to keep us amused!
