We left Gracosia on Monday after a really nice chilled out week off. C was very disappointed to arrive in a relatively smart upmarket marina with lots of retail outlets & bars but little character. However we have got used to it & there are some advantages to having a small supermarket, sailmaker, chandlery, hire cars, etc on site. There are also some lovely people here so it's been sociable. For those that don't know it Lanzarote is a volcanic island with huge lava fields, little vegetation & surprisingly a barren coastline with few beaches. The climate is lovely & it's not expensive which perhaps explains its popularity with northern European tourists. With some trepidation we're flying Ryanair to Bristol tomorrow, & then going on to Berkhamsted on Wednesday to catch up with our Mums& close family for 10 days so we've spent the day packing & weighing & measuring & repacking our bags - what a pain air travel can be!
