There is a little harbour in the photo above which can only be accessed by a series of hairpin bends.
Quite a few of the settlements started with cave dwellings some of which are still in use.
There are a few in the picture above and a derelict one here. There is what I presume to be a bread oven to the right.
I tried to take some pictures to give an idea of how steep the land falls away into the crater.
Despite all this there is a surprising amount of flat arable land in the centre of this particular island. They seem to specialise in tomatoes.
This is a new museum but it was closed.
