We arrived in Yesilkoy quite early. There was a bit of a swell coming into the anchorage by the beach so I went into the fishing harbour and anchored.
There looks to be plenty of room but allowing for any wind changes and Minka swinging there is only a clearance of about 20 mts. I rowed ashore and went shopping.
The wind woke up later and gave me a good direction so I decided to set off the 15 NM to Buyukcekmece. We had a great sail downwind and then beat into the bay to anchor.
Leaving Yesilkoy I had a problem as we had found some obsolete mooring gear and a large fishermans anchor along with its 1 inch chain was caught on my anchor. The new windlass was man enough to lift this lot so I was able to get free without calling out a diver........no more anchoring there.
On our way this motor boat seemed attracted to is.
It overtook leaving lots of room.... maybe as much as ten metres......
We have just left the anchorage and are on our way to Marmara Island.
The anchorage was just off a busy holiday beach. It looked really good in the dark.
