Jace II is a 1993 Moody 44 owned by a friend of
mine John Harp. John and I sailed together quite a lot on Jace II before I
bought my first boat. We were often joined by another friend John Wain. For this
trip we came together again with some other lovely crew.
We sailed to Peel (the Isle of Man).through
Calf Sound. This photo shows us leaving Holyhead which is always a pleasure,
although to be fair the marina development has vastly improved
things.
Approaching Calf Sound. There was not a lot of wind
so we were motorsailing
The trip only took a few hours......I sometimes
wonder if I should buy a boat with a longer waterline. Jace sails at between
half a kt and 2kts faster than Minka which makes a huge difference to passage
times.
