After Caroline left John and Jennifer who have a Rival 34 in Kas invited me for a day out to sort out their new cruising chute.

We had a lovely day and I was particularly interested to see how their Aries wind steering system worked. The chain in the photo above provides the adjustable linkage to the tiller.

The cruising chute sets very well and we managed to gybe it quite neatly without getting it wrapped around the forestay.

I have had another go at getting a long term visa for Turkey but the local office in Kas are still not able to issue. them under the new system.

To make sure I have plenty of days to tour Istanbul and the Black Sea coast I have formally checked out of Turkey and am now in Rhodes on my way north.
