We decided to visit Osborne House, the country retreat of Queen Victoria. We walked there via a foot passenger ferry crossing over the Medina—the new car ferry was out of commission.

We walked around the garden and went inside the house

and walked down to the beach for an ice-cream by the Queen’s bathing hut which used to be wheeled into the water. 

We returned to the Marita to find that she had more neighbours and some very smart 8 metre yachts alongside
