Here are some more images of the canal
transit - Marita being dressed for action
![]() The canal is dredged continuously, this is one of
the dredgers, D'artagnan
![]() The tugs are also supersized, modern and rounded,
the first advisor was a tug engineer, the second a tug driver
![]() In the Pedro Miguel lock we watched the Sanko Titan
come closer and closer......
![]() ![]() ![]() Luckily the mules stopped the heavily laden ship
from coming any closer....I never want to be anywhere near this close to the bow
of a ship again!
We said goodbye as she steamed past us
![]() Yesterday we visited the old town of Panama,
heavily policed as it was full of Government offices, the other buildings were
in a very bad state, worse than Havana.
![]() The 17th Century cathedral was impressive from the
outside
![]() But inside all the plaques had been taken and the
cherubs had lost their heads.
![]() Our mooring at Balboa Yacht Club is just under the
Bridge of the Americas. We are back to a 5 metre tidal range
here.
