Finally yesterday morning the watermaker part was
retrieved from customs. We had spent Sunday at Pigeon Island, a National
Trust Fort on top of a hill with a sandy beach and beach cafe at the
bottom, where we had lunch without waiting for people to come to the boat
as everything stops on Sundays.
Egbert with his nephew Sean completed all the work
on Tuesday morning -fantastic - which meant we could check out with customs, a
laborious procedure, refuel the boat and anchor in the bay before setting off
this morning at 2am for the 80 mile passage to Bequia.
We came down the western side of St Lucia and then
across open water to St Vincent - we had a big rough following sea and up
to 30 knots of wind, after a period of relative calm in the lee of St Vincent we
then crossed to Bequia, where we are on a mooring in Port Elizabeth. We
will go ashore and clear customs etc. tomorrow.
