Dear Diary!
We departed Falmouth at midday yesterday, 20th August. Had a cracking sail out towards the Lizard. the SW wind was still blowing and kept us from bearing away to head south. The wind also dropped to such a level that the had to put on the engine to make serious headway.
A slightly bumpy and at times wet trip for the first 24hrs. The night hours were cold with drizzle and generally a reminder of why heading south is a good option..warm sunshine and water await.
We saw some dolphins and we think Orcas which was lovely.
Not all the the crew partook in dinner and regrettably just before handing the watch to Dad at midnight I lost my lunch. Annoyingly it was just as i had succumbed to asking for a seasick tablet (which i promptly threw up)! I'm feeling much better now.
All crew are well and so far this morning we have all been in the cockpit chatting.
Lunch awaits us as well as a new forecast. We continue to motor at 5kts against a very light SW breeze.
Hope all well ashore.
James, Des, Mike, Kirtsy and Elspeth.
