We're drifting in the middle of a loose bit of pack ice. It's dark now so we decided to just stay put until it gets light in the morning before continuing South. Hopefully, we'll be able to find some sensible way through the pack without going too far out of our way. It's hard to remember that the ice is just drifting along like we are - it seems as though it has a malevolent intent and grumbles all the time. Maybe it doesn't want to melt.
