Title: Chilling out in St Michaels

Saturday night

We've spent yesterday and today adopting the laid-back way of life of the Eastern Shore. St Michaels is very pretty with lots of shops selling things that nobody needs. At least that means there isn't much to spend money on. We found a lovely coffee shop so we've been hanging out there and sorting things out for the next stage of our voyage.

We had to move Saxon Blue yesterday morning as the dock in the Maritime Museum was fully booked for Friday night. That was a bit of a nuisance as it's lovely over there but we found a good dock in the marina on the other side of the bay. Some other boats came in today so we've been chatting to the local skippers who all seem to have come over here from Annapolis to take advantage of the beautiful weather. Everyone assumes that this is the last nice spell and that it's going to get cold very soon.

Andrea and I went for a walk along a nature trail yesterday and saw a White Tailed Deer in a reed bed. The deer had a tail like a candy-floss sticking straight up and looked at us for a while before bounding away into the swamp. There are Turkey Buzzards soaring overhead the whole time and flocks of Canada Geese moving across the bay. It was lovely just being outside on the boat today in the sunshine. I spent a while polishing stainless and then helped Kali climb to the top of the mast, much to the astonishment of the motorboat owners around us. I think Kali will become a local legend in years to come.
