Judgement day has arrived.. I have felt more nervous for a other races I have done before and perhaps this should bother me. but i will just go with it, wolf down a big breakfast and enjoy the day... The last big voyage i undertook was from Majorca to Madeira and i am sure i was sea sick for three days partly cos I hadn't eaten properly. perhaps the storm we hit had something to do with it aswell. This time I am taking something called Biodramina which is supposed to stop sea sickness.. lets see. A couple of things to get for the voyage, a few green bananas, make our pack lunch for the day and load up with 30 or so litres of water just to get us throught the first two or three days. This is just to buy extra time for our water maker... probably one of the most important peices of kit on the boat. My waterman mate Bob has departed on the 12 man boat earlier this morning. This is his third attempt so wish him and all his crew a safe and speedy voyage.... Spoken to my family this morning. Ollie and JJ have a big day ahead of them  too. Its monday and its there first day back at school since being off for xmas.. good luck boys and of course Clair for keeping us all together... I look forward to receiving any messages and hope our technology holds up. Already missing a comfy bed, chat with mum and dad, a decent cup of tea and EVEN home cooked food food...This was written courtesy of wi fi in the hotel Torre Del Conde, La Gomera... Solo rower Dave from 'Team' panasonic is sat next to me so wish him well too. Weather expected today NNW light 10 knots wave height 3m easterly and course we will be taking is approx SSW. Our aim is to make south as much and as quick as poss cos a big low is due in, but we are hoiping the azores high will squash it at best or push it further north... this is nature so anything can happen... see ya, written by stev
