We've just spent a busy day in the hot sun getting the boat ready for the our appointment with the race scrutineers at 8:30 in the morning. All our compulsory kit has been checked and double checked but it does feel like the night before an exam...despite all the hard work we are bound to have missed something. A prime example was that today we had our medical kit checked out and I was sure it was complete...but no I still managed to miss two items :-(

The boat park is awash with people getting prep'ed, some with more to do than others. We're in pretty good shape and I hope we're going to be ok in the morning. (check out the picture)
We covered the inside of the boat with metal insulation to keep it as cool as possible in the cabin, despite this you could have fried eggs on the outside of the boat. Steve's going to be ok, but I'm going to fry to a crisp in the sun down here, gulp! Still plenty of sun to power the solar panels. Learnt how to strip down a watermaker and then put it back together...you never know when that skill is going to come in handy.

We're both missing our families, it's a strange one being out here getting ready without everyone around. Still only a week to go until everyone will be here, will be great. It's a small practice for being 2 months out in the middle of the big water.
